About

One Voice Ministries was founded in 1993 by Evangelist Terry “Shawn” Howell as an Evangelical preaching ministry.  Although music had long been an important part of Shawn’s life, it wasn’t until several years later that the decision was made to incorporate it into the outreach ministries of OVM.

In 1995, OVM began reaching out to area schools, hospitals, nursing homes and detention centers by providing chaplaincy services and devotions.  Coordinated primarily by Shawn’s father, Terry Lee Howell, this ministry opened a great number of doors for OVM, allowing us to partner with organizations such as BREAKAWAY OUTREACH, actually holding services in local schools during the school day.

In 1998, OVM made it’s first appearance on the internet in the form of OVM News.  While this newsletter had been in existence for a number of years, it was at this point that we decided to make the transition from paper to email. This reduced the overhead cost of our ministry and allowed us to reach out to a much larger group of people than we had in the past.  OVM News transitioned to RSS feed in 2006.

By the year 2000, OVM Online had become the official online face of our ministry.  Over
the years, this  has become our greatest form of outreach with over 60,000 visitors each
year. Through this amazing outreach, we have led many souls to Christ, assisted children in
leaving abusive homes and helped missionaries secure the resources they need in order to
minister throughout the world.

Although technical arts and media have been a part of OVM since it’s conception, it wasn’t until 2006 that we decided to officially incorporate the ministry as a direct service of OVM.
Over the years we have assisted a great number of churches with the selection and installation of of A/V equipment, assisted with the training of volunteers and provide production assistance for revivals, concerts and other special events.

Our primary goal is to simply help your congregation obtain the tools – and heart – they need to bring glory to the God of the ages.
